The Mason jar ring does not seem to be problem for the squirrel getting at the feed.

Even turning on the siren on the squirrel cam did not much phase it. Warning ⚠️ turn sound down before playing the clip.

Not letting a thunderstorm keep this Bluejay away from the bird feeder. Looks a bit a damp. The feeder is under the eve of the house on the window and protected from at least some of the rain.

Makes his getaway after they see me but still stops for a drink of water. Raiding bird feeders is thirsty work ;-)

Squirrel jackpot. I failed to realize I need to turn the plastic panel over so the cut out was at the top and the feed did not spill out there but seems fine for now.
