Chinese #RhodesScholar Tony Wang reflects upon what it means to have had ten years of the #RhodesScholarship in China. Tony is in the first term of his DPhil (PhD) in Archaeology at Oxford, in which he is studying the history and archaeology of the Silk Roads.

How can you start thinking about your Rhodes Scholarship application? #RhodesScholar Lana Alabbasi suggests first taking the time to reflect on what you most care about and what most motivates you. Lana is a Rhodes Scholar from Saudi Arabia who is studying a DPhil (PhD) in Astrophysics at Oxford.

The second of the selection criteria for the Rhodes Scholarship is energy to use one's talents to the full. Rhodes Scholar Oyama Mzayidume suggests how you might demonstrate commitment and mastery in areas such as sporting, musical and creative pursuits in your Rhodes application.

Since its first edition in 2022, the #TechAndSociety Forum has grown into a global convening for interdisciplinary thought leadership, bringing together innovators, policymakers & researchers to examine how technology & society are shaping one another. We're excited to continue it this year. 🌍

The third selection criteria for the Rhodes Scholarship focuses on service. Rhodes Scholar Linet Ng'ang'a discusses how you might demonstrate a commitment to truth, courage, devotion to duty, sympathy for and protection of the weak, kindliness, unselfishness and fellowship in your application.

Applicants for the Rhodes Scholarship are assessed according to 4 selection criteria. The first is academic excellence. Rhodes Scholar Mary Gouws suggests how you might demonstrate in your application that you are intellectually curious + able to thrive in a rigorous academic environment at Oxford.

Our final selection criteria for the Rhodes Scholarship is leadership. Rhodes Scholar Kate Bradley discusses how you might demonstrate leadership in both thought and action in your application by indicating how you have the courage to act on your initiative and inspire others to follow.
