when we were about to leave the shelter and spotted them: a dog mom who had been abandoned and had just given birth to seven tiny puppies. We made them a safe place in our shelter and settled them in. Everything seemed fine until one day, we found little Felix looking unwell.

But when I asked why they wouldn’t take any of the dozen of puppies already struggling there, their answer was simple: "They might grow too big and eat too much…" Meanwhile, they wanted this dog’s puppies specifically because they always stay small and require little food.

Sometimes, medicine isn't enough. Even after little Duke recovered physically, he was still terrified, fearing everyone would hurt him: just like the cruel people in his past… But true love is the real cure. Now, this little one is happy, learning to trust, and enjoying every moment of his life.
