Jongeren, ouders en hulpverleners herkennen het: doorverwezen worden. Met als gevolg frustratie, wachtlijsten en bureaucratie. Dat gebeurt ook in de politiek. Niemand voelt zich écht verantwoordelijk voor jeugdzorg en jeugdbescherming, waardoor problemen steeds groter worden.

Een schoolklas per maand. Zoveel jongeren verliezen we aan suïcide. Helaas is er al jaren te weinig politieke prioriteit. Samen met de ChristenUnie schreven we een initiatiefwet. En we blijven alarm slaan over de wachtlijsten in jeugdzorg en GGZ. Want mentale gezondheid doet ertoe! ❤️‍🩹

Politie, gemeenten en hulpverleners stellen dat strafbaarstelling van mensen zonder verblijfsvergunning zorgt voor extra werkdruk en averechts werkt. Slachtoffers van uitbuiting of (seksueel) geweld zullen nog vaker hulp mijden. Daarom stemmen wij vandaag tegen het aangepaste PVV-voorstel.

Kinderen sluit je niet op. Daar ligt voor ons een harde ondergrens. Daarom was ons voorstel om de mogelijkheid tot detentie van kinderen uit de wet te halen. Teleurstellend genoeg kiest de minderheidscoalitie van D66, CDA en VVD voor de route op rechts. En daarmee voor onnodig hardvochtig beleid.

Mensen kiezen niet voor ziekte, een handicap of mentale problemen. Maar zij vangen wel de hardste klappen. Het kabinet legt de rekening bij mensen die niet kunnen protesteren en soms letterlijk geen stem hebben. Dit zijn laffe bezuinigingen!

“Broddelwerk op broddelwerk.” “Symboolwetgeving.” Dat zei D66 over de Faberwetten. Toch staan die in het coalitieakkoord. Dat is een keuze. Een keuze om PVV-beleid uit te voeren dat mensen wegzet, rechten afbreekt en de chaos in de opvang alleen maar groter maakt.

Dit mag NOOIT meer gebeuren. Dat zeggen veel politici als de mishandeling van een kind groot in het nieuws is. Maar als het stelsel van jeugdbescherming niet wordt aangepast, als moties niet worden uitgevoerd en waarschuwingen van deskundigen worden genegeerd, dan BLIJFT dit gebeuren.
