Donald Trump's comments yesterday were disgraceful.   It is time for House and Senate Republicans to join us, stand up, and stop this president who is hurting American interests around the world.

My mother had more reproductive rights than my grandchildren have, and that's hard to wrap your head around.   We can't stop fighting to protect the rights we may have once taken for granted.

As top Democrat on the Committee on House Administration, I'm leading the fight to keep elections fair and accessible for every eligible American voter.

The Anti-Corruption and Democracy Reform Task Force heard from experts this week, like Daniel Schuman from the American Governance Institute, on how we can hold Congress more accountable to the public. We're creating a more unified democracy that works for every American.

House Republicans may not like to hear it, but it's true. Donald Trump cannot accept he lost the 2020 election and as a result, he has dragged the entire Republican Party down a path that harms the American people.

In the 2024 presidential election, nearly 90 million eligible Americans chose not to vote. We should be doing everything we can to engage people and build their faith in this institution that we call American democracy, not adding barriers that make it harder to vote.

Donald Trump has confiscated the White House. He has turned the power of the presidency into something that enriches him instead of working for the American people.

The Trump Administration's immigration claims are nothing but a lie. They are not going after the “worst of the worst,” and they know it. They're going after people who are simply trying to chase the American dream because it serves them politically.

It's hard to believe we're having the same fight for voting rights we had during the civil rights era of the 50s and 60s.   Through centuries of struggle, countless Americans have strived to make real our founders promises of freedom and equality. We won't stop that fight now.
