The Trump Admin paid a company $1 billion to cancel its offshore wind leases. They cited “national security” + “environmental” concerns. Literally days later, they removed a critical endangered species protection to allow unfettered drilling in the Gulf of Mexico. Just mindboggling hypocrisy.

One of my amendments was simple: NO TRUMP ARCH! Most Americans oppose it. Veterans groups oppose it. It’s a huge waste of taxpayer money. Republicans say there’s no funding in the bill for an arch anyway. You think Trump cares about Congressional approval!? They can't stand up to him on ANYTHING!

Update from D.C.: Overnight, the Senate passed a bill that would fund the vital parts of DHS, like TSA, the Coast Guard, FEMA, and cybersecurity professionals without handing ICE and CBP a blank check. Now, the House needs to get this passed. We’ll see if Republicans can get out of their own way.

Headed to Texas for an oversight visit of Dilley, where Mainer Olivia Andre and many others are being held under horrible conditions. I have a folder of photos and letters from loved ones to share with Olivia—as well as documentation on our efforts to bring her home. I hope they lift her spirits.

Republicans love to talk about “living within our means” when it comes to spending—except for the Pentagon, whose budget they want to increase by *40%*. Meanwhile, their cuts to the Forest Service are having a huge impact on research + wildfire management. The damage they’re doing is incalculable.

WHAT THE HELL is going on at the USPS? Yesterday, I received an alarming message about a company that delivers mail for USPS to several island communities in Maine. Apparently, USPS has been stiffing this company for years—to the tune of $388K—and hasn’t paid for a SINGLE delivery in 2026.

Each year the Interior Appropriations Subcommittee spends 2 days hearing from Chiefs, tribal leaders and indigenous communities. The stories are heartbreaking. Underfunded schools, inadequate health care and housing, missing and murdered indigenous women. We are NOT meeting our treaty obligations.

The right loves to slap the word “socialism” on anything that helps working people. Public schools. Health care. Basic services people rely on every day. The government has a role to play in making sure the system actually works for working people, not just billionaires and corporations.

Going the Distance: This week, UNICEF-led convoy missions reached 26 villages in Nabatiyeh, #Lebanon, delivering urgently needed emergency supplies to children and families in collective shelters and hard-to-reach areas. Our colleagues are working to deliver lifesaving support wherever its needed.
