The Annual UHPGB Report to the Legislature is is the 2026 Annual Report to the Legislature was submitted this past December. Full report available at the link in our bio. The Universal Health Plan Governance Board is working on their transition plan for how we move to a universal healthcare.

It's the Health Care for All Oregon May Membership Drive. Our organization relies on the support of our members to make this movement happen. Members contribute a minimum of $5 a month, or $30 a year. This consistent giving allows HCAO to focus on outreach, and monitoring the work of the UHPGB.

Have any of the Board members ever lived under a universal health care system? In the words of Dr. Mimi McDonnell, Executive Director of Oregon's Universal Health Plan Governance Board "no, but that's the dream." Prof. Chunhuei Chi helped Taiwan transition to its current single-payer system.

There are only 5 more meetings of the Universal Health Plan Governance Board before their September deadline. There is an opportunity submit your written comments directly to the Board. They read every message, and these comments are helping to shape the development of the plan.

If Oregon had universal health care system, we could treat patients more as people, and less as numbers. "What do you think that would do for people?" Universal Health Care for everybody would improve everyone's overall health.
