I went to the Lloyd Center the other day. After talking with some folks and listening to a few hours of Lloyd Center Master Plan presentation and testimony - I better understand how folks are connected to that space, even if I don't agree with efforts to stop Lloyd's demolition and development (1/2)

People expect their local leaders to be innovating and pushing the status quo to help people, ESPECIALLY right now. I spent my morning at TriMet's Board of Director's meeting and at Portland City Hall. Here were some of my takeaways.

Go to reps.fyi right now. Call your two US Senators and your US Representative. Tell them you need them to put their careers and reputation on the line to remove the President from office, now. Nobody - not MAGA, not your grandmother who is a Republican, nobody - can support "civilization will die."

Portland's small businesses are what make Portland... Portland! We need to listen, not pretend we know more about their pressures than they do, and do more to help. That can mean a lot of things, including making permitting easier and increasing transit, walking, and biking which increases sales.

Portland deserves leaders who know how to work together to get stuff done, and that's exactly what my experience, education, and work has always been about!
