Yesterday, I led my colleagues in Congress to take a stand for science. The NASA, NOAA, NIH, and NSF all contribute to our safety and security, through their work to cure deadly diseases, protect us from natural disasters, and ensure we remain competitive on the global stage.

Today, I signed a petition that would force a vote to protect Medicaid and SNAP. Hundreds of thousands of people in my district rely on these programs to meet their basic needs, including accessing health care and putting food on the table.

I testified in front of the House Rules Committee today to talk about the working families, the local hospitals, and the kids in my district that will be seriously hurt by the budget that House Republicans are jamming through Congress.
