Doug Ford announced that he wants to expand the island airport on Toronto’s waterfront. I’m doing what he has refused to do- ask reasonable questions about whether or not it actually makes sense.

Everyone deserves to feel safe and secure in their home. We introduced RentSafe to protect tenants’ health and safety - and hold our city’s worst landlords to account. We’re now bolstering the program with color-coded signs, remedial action and penalties with teeth.

Parking lots and massive runways shouldn’t pave over what we love on our city’s waterfront. There’s a balance of uses now between the existing airport, nearby parks and livable communities. We can’t let Doug Ford screw it up.

The one thing Doug Ford has been consistent about is his love of jets. That’s for sure. But he’s provided no evidence that what he’s pushing through at Toronto’s waterfront actually makes sense.
