I’ve been down under asking Aussies what they think about their digital ID.

I was delighted to join the Prime Minister to launch the new Office for the Impact Economy in the Cabinet Office this week. We’ll be working with philanthropists, charities and impact investors to deliver on the promise of change.

The Spending Review will decide how to spend tax payers money on your priorities. Rachel Reeves MP and I launched the review today. We will look at every pound spent and it will conclude in June 2025. I’ll be getting around the country to invite you to be part of the process.

Giving kids the best start in life is a crucial part of our Plan for Change. We’re investing £8billion into subsidised child care for working parents across the country, creating brilliant careers, helping parents get to work and giving children the best start in life.

Our up to £1bn Better Futures Fund will tackle the structural causes of poverty. Working in partnership with impact investors, government will partner with local community groups to deliver life changing outcomes across the country.

For the first time in 17 years, government will review how every pound of tax payers money is being spent. In the spending review, we will make sure public spending delivers our Plan for Change.

The new Office for the Impact Economy will bring investors together with people doing good work in their local communities to help unlock investment. I recently saw how this type of investment delivered new nurseries - making a difference to local families and their children.

Dreams fulfilled. An answer to the question: what next? What’s next for me? For my family? For my community? That’s what opportunity is all about. And it’s what our Plan for Change will deliver for millions of people across the country. Change is happening.
